Does this mean you do less than other children's authors during your school visit?

Short answer: No. In fact, just the opposite.

Long answer: Again, I was a first grade teacher for ten years. I am used to being on-the-go, full-tilt, all-day. I know that many children's authors limit the number of workshops they will give during a day. I will give as many workshops as you can fit in during the day. I will be active at your school from the time the busses arrive in the morning until they leave in the afternoon.

But...

I do charge an extra $50 fee for each large group poetry performance after the first one. For most schools this is not an issue, because I can usually give my large group poetry performance to the whole school at one time, so there is no need for an additional performance. The only reason I charge extra for additional large group poetry performances is to cover my out of pocket expenses for each large group poetry performance. This extra fee DOES NOT apply to workshops. You many still cram my day with those.
