I am proud to now offer audio visits to schools.

Nothing can match the enthusiasm generated when I visit your school in person, but the audio visit will get kids excited about poetry and it fills a need for many schools.

*An audio visit is great for schools that can't have me visit in person when my schedule is already full.

Currently, I am only visiting a set number of schools during the school year. If your school isn't lucky enough to be one of those few schools, an audio visit is a great alternative.

*An audio visit is great for schools who simply can not afford to bring an author to their school.

I think that when I tell you the cost of an audio visit, you'll agree that I am doing everything in my power to make it affordable for any school.

*An audio visit is also great for schools that have already had me visit, and would like to keep the enthusiasm for poetry growing.

An audio visit is completely unique to your school. It is not a canned recording sent out to all the schools that request it.

*Your students will brainstorm 5 questions for me to answer during my audio visit.

*Your students will chose 5 poems for me to recite during my audio visit.

*I'll also share a few writing tips with your students.

*I'll use the terms used by your writing program.

I was a first grade teacher for ten years, and I am familiar with several writing programs currently used in schools. If you share the terms used to describe your writing process, I will use those same terms. This really helps kids to realize, "Hey, this isn't just our crazy teacher who thinks this is important, this author thinks it's important to." As a teacher, I have seen the power of an expert from outside the school confirming what the teachers are saying. It really helps drive the point home.

Again, nothing can match the enthusiasm generated when I visit a school in person, but if your school is unable to bring me in person, please consider an audio visit.
